Kabuli Gate
The gate opening towards west derives its name from the fact that it faces the direction of Kabul, and is still another example of rectangular double gate with off-sets in plan. Its central arch opening is 3.15 meters. It has two bastions on both sides though they are not massive and strong as we see in the case of Sohail Gate. They however, have other architectural features making their study interesting.
On the western side of the gate there is Shahi Mosque tempting many to call the gate as ‘Shahi Darwaza’ or the Royal Gate. Just close to the gate is a baoli (a step well) with big zig-zag steps going down to the water level.
