The gate, opening on the northern side, faces roughly towards Kashmir, hence the name Kashmiri Gate. Because of its crooked look as of a drain (mori) it is also known as such. The gate is with an arched opening leading to a rectangular chamber which in turn leads to another chamber through an archway.
