The fort has twelve gates constructed at strategic point. Standing in the massive walls, these gates look imposing with elaborate architectural features. They are named as Sohail Gate, Shah Chand Wali Gate, Kabuli Gate, Tulla Mori Gate, Gatali Gate, Pipawala Gate and Sar Gate. They were built in sand stone masonry combining strength with grace in a manner that was to characterize the coming Mughal architecture.
